A first among firsts, this coffee’s origin dates back to the beginning of my relationship with IWCA Burundi. I first met these powerful women coffee farmers in 2013 at the Kirema washing station in Kayanza Province. While their group numbered less than 200, they were clear about how my business could help them. “Buy our coffee and let the world know about us.” Their coffee’s quality tells their story. In return, they receive premium payments that support their community’s growth and development. Only available in small batches, Kirema won the Cup of Excellence in 2014. You will find in the 2019 lot notes of vanilla, toffee, lemon, jasmine and green tea as you savor this cup and the accomplished women who stand behind it.
